Anchor Software Releases New Products to Support Intelligent Mail®

IMB Manager and MaxOG Designed to Facilitate Creating, Managing and Printing Intelligent Mail Barcodes

Plano, Texas – October 15, 2008 – ANCHOR SOFTWARE, LLC, a leading provider of data processing software for address and data quality, direct marketing and document design, today announced the simultaneous releases of IMB Manager and MaxOG (Output Generator), two products designed that support the Intelligent Mail initiative from the United States Postal Service® (USPS®).

Beginning in May 2009, the USPS will allow mailers to participate in either the Basic Service or Full Service option for Intelligent Mail. Basic Service users simply need to print an Intelligent Mail barcode (IMB) on their mailpieces in order to qualify. Full Service participants must meet a number of additional requirements in order to qualify. These additional requirements include the need to print IMBs on all mailpieces, bag/tray tags and pallet placards, and are required to maintain unique serial numbers within those IMBs. The USPS also requires mailer’s unique serial numbers to remain for a period of 45-days from the day the mail is introduced into the mail system. The USPS refers to this date as the “start-the-clock” date.

IMB Manager is a multi-purpose software solution that manages the IMB process by accepting input files generated by any presort product and Container Summary (CSM) file from any Mail.dat® product. In addition, it helps users create and manage their unique Intelligent Mail barcodes, tracks/manages unique serial numbers across multiple Mailer IDs, and “expires” serial numbers based on either mailing dates supplied by the user or the official “start-the-clock” date supplied by the USPS.

MaxOG (Output Generator) uses proprietary technology extracted from Anchor Software’s industry-leading MaxDesigner to let users create and print Intelligent Mail barcodes on mailpieces, bag/tray tags and pallet placards. Similar to IMB Manager, MaxOG accepts input files generated by any presort product, as well as Container Summary (CSM) files from any Mail.dat product. MaxOG also allows users to output in a wide variety of Inkjet printer formats.

“Anchor Software is committed to supporting the Intelligent Mail vision of the USPS while assisting mailer’s implementation of their Intelligent Mail strategies. Since mailers should expect new challenges when they implement these strategies, solutions like IMB Manager and MaxOG will allow them to easily create, manage and print Intelligent Mail barcodes” said Gary Siegel, President of Anchor Software.
